In the corona pandemic with i.e. semiconductor shortage and company closures the manufacturing industry faces a never experienced situation leading to high uncertainty. In the case study at ERCO (a light solutions manufacturer) various AI-based demand forecasting scenarios serve as decision support in supply chain planning. The challenge of joining data from a global CRM & ERP system and the difficulties with manually entered order entry probabilities is addressed and possible solutions presented.
